Fundraisers to free recycling, Hansen’s give back to the community in many ways
- Shoot for the Stars -- Hansen’s Tree Service sponsors, hosts or participates in several local causes throughout the year. One charitable function Hansen’s holds each year in partnership the ProHunt Charities is the annual Shoot for the Stars fundraiser. Shoot for the Stars was started in 2000 as a way to raise money for local charities in the community. Teams sign up to for a daylong sporting-clay competition that includes lunch and silent auction. Proceeds from admission and the auction go to a number of charities picked each year. The annual event involves several area businesses raises thousands of dollars each year. “This event has become one of the most anticipated of the year for so many area businesses,” Hansen’s Tree Service Owner Jeff Hansen said. “We all recognize the importance of giving back. Shoot for the Stars gives us the opportunity to come together and have a real impact in the lives of area children.”
- Roll Off Containers -- In 2005, Hansen initiated a program of providing wood-waste roll off containers to the commercial construction industry at a reasonable rate in order to keep that wood waste out of landfills. More commercial builders are participating in the program today because they want to be more environmentally friendly.
- HEROs program -- Hansen’s HEROs program stands for Hansen’s Environmental Recycling Options, and this honor is bestowed upon customers, cities, anyone who does curbside or storm damage mitigation.
